Control and Coordination for Automated Container Terminals
This work proposes novel control and coordination strategies for operational control of automated container terminals. Advanced control techniques are developed for improving energy efficiency and implementing more autonomous equipment in automated container terminals. Hereby, both discrete-event dynamics and continuous-time dynamics are considered, using centralized and hierarchical hybrid system perspectives. Simulation experiments on compact, medium and large-scale terminal case studies show the potential of the proposed new approaches.
