Seminar – Road Infrastructure for Connected and Automated Driving and its Implications on Behaviour and Safety

March 20, 2023 12.30h - 15.30h

On 20th March 2023, TRAIL PhD researcher Solmaz Razmi Rad will defend her PhD thesis ‘Design and Evaluation of Dedicated Lanes for Connected and Automated Vehicles’ at Delft University of Technology.

On the occasion of this public defence, TRAIL and TU Delft have set up a seminar on Infrastructure for connected and automated driving and its implications on behaviour and safety.

The increasing deployment of vehicles at different automation levels among other human driven vehicles and vulnerable road users on the existing road infrastructure introduces new challenges for road operators and for vehicle developers. Scientific research is needed both from the behavioural sciences perspective, understanding the interactions of road users with automated vehicles, and from the road infrastructure design perspective understanding the interactions of automated driving systems with the infrastructure. In this seminar the speakers will address these topics.
