What are the triggers of change in travel behavior? When, how and why do people to decide to adjust their activities and/or travel routines? What is the role of (changes in) psychological factors and spatial characteristics? How can we model change and which data are available/needed to achieve this? While the field of travel behavior dynamics represented a vibrant research area in the 1990s, it has since, probably due to a lack of mobility panel data, received relatively little attention by transportation researchers. Nevertheless, through the use of panel data (repeated measures of the same individuals) many new insights may be gained with respect to travel behavior change and the causes of change, insights which are highly relevant from a scientific as well as policy perspective. With the main aim of reinvigorating the field of activity-travel behavior dynamics, the section of Transport and Logistics (TU Delft) is proud to organize a timely workshop on this topic. During this workshop leading international researchers within the field of activity-travel dynamics will share the state-of-the-art research focusing on three themes: theory, methods and data. Among the speakers are Prof. dr. Konstadinos Goulias (University of California, Santa Barbara), Prof. dr. Joachim Scheiner (Technical University Dortmund), Dr. Kiron Chatterjee (University of the West of England, Bristol) and Prof. dr. Henk Meurs (Radboud University Nijmegen). The workshop will be held on July 10 (9:00 to 17:30 hours, including lunch) at the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management (located on the Jaffalaan 5) in Room C.
