On 8 June 2016, TRAIL PhD student Diana Vonk Noordegraaf will defend her PhD thesis ‘Road Pricing Implementation’ at Delft University of Technology.
On the occasion of her public defence, TRAIL has set up a master class on: Future Implementation of Road Pricing. Road pricing is renowned, and in the Netherlands perhaps even notorious, for non-implementation. In this seminar Diana Vonk Noordegraaf will briefly explain why policy implementation of road pricing is complex and why the classic implementation approaches seem ineffective. Next, three very interesting speakers will share their views on this topic: international expert on transport policy Prof. Tom Rye, top strategist Emiel Reiding and regional innovator Ewout Spit. Finally, Prof. Bert van Wee will chair a discussion with the speakers and the audience. Several topics will be discussed such as various innovative road pricing measures, the role of new technologies and the future of road pricing in the Netherlands.
